San Diego -- May 22, 2008 -- /prbuzz/ -- Separated by Dreams, a true story written by Elizabeth Ann Guevara, chronicles Guevara’s experiences as a San Diego business woman, whose life was suddenly transformed by an overnight business trip to San Antonio, Texas.
The compelling story unfolds with the theft of Guevara’s briefcase by an unknown crook. Guevara’s briefcase was the only one of a group of three that did not contain a laptop computer, yet it was the only one taken.
What would be considered to be typical petty theft to many has dramatically impacted both the author and the thief—because of one priceless item in the briefcase. “The case held something very precious and irreplaceable to me,” said Guevara.
Guevara believes the thief’s life, like her own, is dramatically different because of their one night, chance encounter in the heart of Texas. Though they’ve never spoken or written to each other, the item in the briefcase has inexplicably drawn the author and the thief together in the most unique of ways.
Separated by Dreams is Guevara’s attempt to reach out to the young man who stole her briefcase, and more importantly, one prized possession from her. “We’ve developed a relationship through this item, and I’m ready to meet him now,” Guevara said.
In addition to sharing her true story, Separated by Dreams, with audiences around the globe, Guevara hopes the release of the volume will gain the attention of the man who originally stole from her, but ultimately gave her a most unusual friendship. “I want to meet the stranger I’ve grown to treasure,” she said.
