Miami, FL -- October 5, 2009 -- BIGSTAR.tv has announced the grand prize winner of their collaboration efforts with Ft. Lauderdale Film Festival to host a short film contest. "Farewell," submitted to the online competition by Marco Von Moos won first place after competing against dozens of other films, and will be screened at this year's 24th Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival from October 23rd to November 8, 2009.
BIGSTAR.tv's Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival Short Film Contest took place from May 28th until September 16, 2009 when the contest closed and ten finalists were chosen. The parameters for the entries required films to be from two to twenty-five minutes in length, and also obligated filmmakers to utilize some form of audio to accompany the film.
Ten competing entries, including the titles "The Waking Artist 2009," "Freebird," "Phoenix Down," "In the Fall of Gravity 8," "Portrait of a Woman," "Family Man," "Phobias 2009," "Flashback 3," and "So Deep in Your Room" were rated by viewers, and judged by a BIGSTAR.tv panel of judges whose final judgment fell upon "Farewell."
